Celebrating the Women Leaders Who Do the Behind-the-Scenes Work in Higher Education
APL nextED is proud to be a woman-founded and led higher education company. During Women’s History Month 2021 four women who are doing extraordinary work in academic operations at their institutions were honored with APL’s inaugural Outstanding Women Leading In Academic Operations Award. All of these women are leading, managing and innovating in masterful and thoughtful ways to ensure that the broad and robust infrastructure that is needed to support faculty and students is strong and sustainable.
APL’s award was created to recognize the hundreds of thousands of women doing the vital, yet often overlooked, work of leading and supporting academic teams as they work to achieve their academic missions. In addition to the award, this year’s recipients received gift boxes with products made by women-owned companies and were recognized in virtual presentations.
You can learn more about the award-winners below and hear them share the valuable lessons learned this past year, their approaches to the transitions occurring in higher education, and how they believe that being a woman has uniquely prepared them to lead in this time.
