What is APL nextED?
APL nextED is a comprehensive, fully integrated Academic Operations Platform. We offer the only enterprise operations platform designed specifically for academic teams, including faculty, staff and administrators. The platform allows flexible integration with an institution’s existing LMS and SMS data to track true metrics on faculty and student success.
Why does my institution need another system?
APL nextED’s comprehensive platform provides one hub to organize all of your institution’s data, often eliminating the need for other point solutions and streamlining data operations.
How does APL nextED integrate into my institution’s current system?
APL nextED offers two methods of integration: file import/export or API connections. Institutions can leverage either method to integrate APL with other systems on campus such as the SIS, LMS, HR and payroll software. APL nextED can also integrate with your SSO provider, so users access their APL account using institution-granted SSO credentials.

How long does it take to implement the platform?
Our Implementation and Integration process can be completed in as little as 60 days. The process is divided into 10 steps consisting of web-conference meetings with the APL Implementation Team and clear takeaway tasks designed to be completed by your launch team.
Does APL nextED work for large institutions?
APL nextED can be implemented at institutions of any size. The platform creates efficiencies in operations and cost savings at large and small institutions alike.
How does APL nextED compare to other Academic Operations systems?

Does APL nextED offer user training?
Yes, we provide extensive user training. Our institution partners work with APL nextED team members to learn how to most effectively use the APL platform. We offer guided video tutorials and other hands-on user training.
What kind of security options does APL nextED offer?
Security and data safety are one of the highest priorities of APL. Advanced monitoring, logical backups, intrusion detection, vulnerability scans, centralized log aggregation, user activity monitoring, secure coding practices, extended validation SSL encryption, employee access procedures and regular password rotation are among the many procedures in place to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive user information. APL is also SOC 2 compliant.
Do all of my faculty members and employees need to download APL nextED?
No. APL nextED is a SaaS platform, so users can access the program from anywhere — making it a perfect fit for remote and on-campus teams.
My institution already uses another faculty information system. Why switch to APL nextED?
APL nextED is the only comprehensive and integrated application on the market today that lets institutions manage faculty data, staffing, contracting, compensation, evaluations and more in one system. Many institutions replace their faculty information system with APL, while others choose to integrate their FIS with APL.
Can custom features be added?
We welcome all partner feedback. Our service desk allows super-admin users to submit New Feature Requests, which are considered for development by the APL nextED team.
