When I got to Purdue University we had no idea which colleges were making money and which colleges were losing money. The systems we had gave us zero insight.
Going through the process of restructuring operations gave our finance team tremendous insight. It also provided the Provost and the various units performance insights to know if their areas were running a surplus or deficit.
