Celebrating Women Leading Academic Operations

APL nextED Marketing Team · March 8, 2022 ·

2022 APL nextED Outstanding Women Leading In Academics

This year, in particular, we are reminded of the importance of healers and caregivers who are helping to promote and sustain hope for the future. The NWHA encourages communities throughout the country to honor local women who bring and have historically brought these priceless gifts to their families, workplaces, and neighborhoods, sometimes at great sacrifice. These are the women who, as counselors and clerics, artists and teachers, doctors, nurses, mothers, and grandmothers listen, ease suffering, restore dignity, and make decisions for our general as well as our personal welfare.

Celebrating the Women Leaders Who Do the Behind-the-Scenes Work in Higher Education

APL nextED is proud to announce three recipients of this year’s Outstanding Women Leading in Academics Award.

This year APL is honoring:

  • Janet Randerson, Director of Faculty Development at Colorado Christian University
  • Ji Seon Lee, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Social Service at Fordham University
  • Jacqueline Thierry, Director of Academic Affairs at The College of Health Care Professions

The APL nextED Outstanding Women Leading in Academic Operations Award was established in 2021 to honor and acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of women leading and supporting academic teams at Institutions of Higher Learning.

“It is very exciting to honor these incredible women and to call out the vital work they are doing at their institutions leading their teams, managing academic operations and supporting the faculty, staff and administrators tasked with carrying out their academic missions,” said APL nextED CEO and founder, Kathleen Gibson. “Each of these women is a difference-maker who is committed to making her school better and stronger.”

Throughout the month of March, APL will release interviews with each of this year’s recipients. Visit this page throughout the month to learn more about the award-winners and hear them share the valuable lessons learned this past year, their approaches to the transitions occurring in higher education, and how they believe that being a woman has uniquely prepared them to lead in this time.

“Each of these women is a difference-maker who is committed to making her school better and stronger.”
